Happy Hour At Origin's In Soho

Last week, I headed down to the Origins store in SoHo for a festive “make-under” happy hour hosted by Gettington.com and CouponCraze.com.

Gettington.com general manager Paula Drum told me about the new retailer’s budget-friendly approach to online shopping, with multiple paying options and surprise “Goodie Bag” offers (freebies, discounts, etc.). WalletPop.com’s Beth Pinkser Gladstone said there’s plenty of deals to be found online thanks to coupons in just about every shopping category.

After nibbling on a few appetizers, I settled in for a heavenly mini-facial with charming newbie New Yorker Wendell, who opened up my pores so much that I almost didn't want to wear makeup ever again. Almost.

Origins’ Make A Difference mask lives up to its name. Heavenly.

From the event, I raced back to Midtown for dinner at Uncle Jack’s Steakhouse with newlywedded friend Cindy.

While enjoying the five-star ambiance (along with perfectly cooked steak, sweet mashed potatoes and creamed spinach), we talked about the merits of summer flings when you’re single and the dubious characters on today’s reality shows.

Speaking of reality shows, the crew for a new one about bad bosses was shooting all around us. It’s scheduled to air on NBC in January, so maybe we’ll have a cameo in the background.

Coming up…men who don’t know how to make a graceful exit and flying solo at a swanky charity event.
