Brainstorming For A Worthy Cause

Last night, I attended my first meeting as a member of the Cancer Research Institute’s fledging Young Philanthropists group.

Last year’s Midsummer Social event sponsored by the CRI’s Young Philanthropists group attracted about 140 people, myself included

I was introduced to the organization and the group last summer, when I attended their first annual Midsummer Social event. Having lost both of my parents to cancer, it is a cause close to my heart, so I’m excited to be part of promoting CRI and their efforts to support scientists on the frontline of cancer research.

The 15-member Young Philanthropists board boasts a cross section of smart, talented 20 and 30-somethings from CRI and the private sector. I’m looking forward to working with every single one of them on the group’s 2009 summer event.
